Representatives from Najaf Centre visited an elderly lady,  Bahia Salem Jassim, who lives with her family of four grandchildren, aged between two and seven years. Her son was killed by terrorists in the Latifiyah area and his children were left to her care.

Bahia lives under difficult conditions in a simple house that lacks basic necessities. The rent is 175,000 IQD (approx. £105) per month. She does not have access to any financial resources.

It is worth mentioning that the mother of these orphans left her children to take up a job as a caretaker leaving the grandmother to take entirely care of the childrend.  Due to extreme poverty and need and hunger, this caring grandmother struggles daily to collect discarded vegetables from the grocer in order to fill the hungry stomachs of her grandchildren.

This family needs: -

- A donation of 220,000 IQD (approx £132) to buy refrigerator.

- A donation of 115,000 IQD (approx £69) to purchase a cooker.

- A donation of 100,000 IQD (approx  £60) to buy school supplies for the orphans.

- Monthly sponsorship of 25,000 IQD (approx £15) to feed and provide for each orphan.

Please help this elderly grandmother to support her orphan family and overcome some of the difficulties she faces.
